Abstract
Political and military crises, as well as external attacks, can affect the social and political capacities of societies. This study aims to explain the role of the people in sustaining the Islamic Revolution following the martyrdom of the Revolution’s leader, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and to examine the relationship between the social agency of the people in the “street” and the forces present in the “field” in confronting attacks by the United States and Israel. The main research question is: How can popular participation in the street, as a source of social support for the field, contribute to the resilience of the Islamic Revolution? Adopting a qualitative approach and discourse analysis method, the study finds that popular presence and social cohesion in the street enhance national solidarity, sustain collective morale, strengthen the sense of belonging and public responsibility, and provide social support for the forces present in the field, thereby increasing society’s capacity to confront external threats. Accordingly, the street is not merely an arena of social action; by maintaining social cohesion and public morale, it can help sustain the field and strengthen social resilience and the stability of the Islamic Revolution.
