The Middle East, one of the most important geopolitical regions in the world, has always been an arena for great power competition. In the last two decades, the United States and the People's Republic of China have become the two main players in this competition. Despite its reduced energy dependence on the region, the United States still has a large military and security presence and is trying to maintain its strategic influence to ensure the security of its allies and counter threats. In contrast, China, given its growing need for energy resources, has adopted a different strategy and has consolidated its position in the region through infrastructure investments and the expansion of economic relations within the framework of the "Belt and Road" initiative.

The findings show that the competition between the United States and China in the Middle East is of a mixed nature; arenas, a kind of interdependence has formed between them in the energy and economic fields. Also, the countries of the region, by taking advantage of the policy of balancing, . The research results indicate that this competition will not only affect the future of energy security and the regional balance of power.
