Abstract
National unity is one of the most important components of political stability, cohesion, and authority in the Islamic Republic of Iran. In the Supreme Leader’s statements, it is regarded as a fundamental strategy for progress, security, and countering soft threats. Given the role of political parties in participation and competition, developing an effective model to reconcile party pluralism with national cohesion is essential. This study aims to design a pragmatic model for achieving national unity in the Islamic Republic of Iran, emphasizing political parties’ roles within the framework of the Supreme Leader’s directives. The research is applied-developmental in purpose and qualitative-exploratory in nature, employing Strauss and Corbin’s grounded theory approach. Data were collected through documentary analysis of the Supreme Leader’s statements, higher-level policy documents, and relevant scholarly sources. Purposive-theoretical sampling continued until theoretical saturation. Data were analyzed through open, axial, and selective coding, yielding the central category of “pragmatic management of political pluralism within the framework of the Supreme Leader’s directives.” Trustworthiness was ensured using Lincoln and Guba’s criteria. Findings indicate that intelligently managing political pluralism strengthens national authority, reduces political divisions, enhances national security, mitigates destructive conflicts, improves predictability in party behavior, consolidates political stability,.
