Abstract

The main question of the research is "What effect did the political opportunities of the late 1980s and early 1990s have on the formation and success of the second Khordad movement of 1376/1997?" Based on this, an attempt is made to answer this question by using the conceptual components of the theoretical approach of social movements, especially the ideas of people like McAdam, Sidney Taro and Charles Tilly. The research findings show that political opportunities such as; The relatively open political space of the 70s, the existence of mechanisms for political participation and access to the system, new political demarcations among elites, the fragility of political alliances (new political alignments) and the changing role of external factors (the process of globalization and the conditions of the international system ) had a decisive role in the formation and victory of the second Khordad 1376movement". The research method is a qualitative type of causal explanation, and the tool for analyzing and explaining the issue is the theory of the structure of political opportunities. The data collection method is documentary and library study and use of internet resources
