Political participation expresses how citizens with different participation attitudes take advantage of the opportunities provided by the political system and social institutions. Citizens who are well informed are more likely to participate in political affairs. What is the relationship between social gaps and political participation? The most basic orientations to political participation on the part of citizens are related to the political behavior of statesmen. Interest in politics and active and spontaneous participatory behavior on the part of citizens, having a relationship Positive with political participation, which other political attitudes are based on. These attitudes include political effectiveness and political trust. Those societies that are ineffective in creating a stable and effective government are also ineffective in creating mutual trust among citizens. The main question of the research is, what effect will the widening and thickening of social divides have on the level of political participation and electoral behavior in the Islamic Republic of Iran? شکاف و نابرابری‌های اجتماعی یکی از مسائل مهم بسیاری از جوامع امروزی است که کشور ایران نیز امروزه با شرایط جدید اقتصادی و سیاسی و عدم مدیریت کارآمد با این مسئله پیش از هر زمان دیگری روبروست. مشارکت سیاسی بیان کننده چگونگی بهره‌برداری شهروندان دارای نگرش‌های مشارکتی مختلف از فرصتهایی است که نظام سیاسی و نهادهای اجتماعی در اختیار آنها قرار می‌دهند. شهروندانی که اطلاعات خوبی دارند(آگاهی سیاسی،احساس اثربخشی، تعهد مدنی)،برای مشارکت در امور سیاسی مستعدترند. چه رابطه‌ای بین شکاف‌های اجتماعی و مشارکت سیاسی وجود دارد؟اساسی‌ترین جهت‌گیری‌ها به مشارکت سیاسی از جانب شهروندان به رفتار سیاسی دولتمردان مربوط می‌گردد.علاقه به سیاست و رفتار مشارکتی فعال و خودجوش از سوی شهروندان، داشتن رابطه مثبت با مشارکت سیاسی که سایر نگرش‌های سیاسی بر آن بنا شده‌اند.از جمله این نگرش‌ها،اثربخشی سیاسی و اعتماد سیاسی است. آن جوامعی که در ایجاد یک حکومت پایدار و موثر ناکارآمدند،در ایجاد اعتماد متقابل میان شهروندان،نیز کارایی ندارند. سئوال اصلی پژوهش این است که گسترش و متراکم شدن شکاف‌های اجتماعی، چه تأثیری بر میزان مشارکت سیاسی و رفتار انتخاباتی جمهوری اسلامی ایران خواهد گذاشت؟روش تحقیق این پژوهش توصیفی–تحلیلی و جمع‌آوری داده‌ها به شکل اسنادی و کتابخانه‌ای می‌باشد.
