چکیده
افول در آمریکا از زمانی آغاز شد که این کشور با برهم زدن موازنه قدرت در جهان و از بین بردن نظام دوقطبی به دنبال تأمین منافع ملی آمریکا در نظام تکقطبی برآمد. این پژوهش به دنبال پاسخ به این سئوال است که آیا در هژمونی آمریکایی افول روی داده و اینکه این افول چه ویژگی‌هایی دارد تا به درستی مورد شناسایی قرار گیرد. این پژوهش با استفاده از روش توصیفی ـ تحلیلی درصدد پاسخگویی به این سئوالات است که اولاً معنا و ماهیت دقیق افول هژمونی آمریکا چیست و این افول چرا و چگونه اتفاق افتاده است؟ و ثانیاً نظام جهانی در پرتو افول هژمونی آمریکا به چه وضعیتی دچار خواهد شد؟ فرضیه اصلی این پژوهش این است که افول آمریکا از زمان فروپاشی شوروی آغاز گردید و نظام جهانی به سرعت در سراشیبی تغییر وضعیت از نظام تکقطبی به یک جهان چندقطبی قرار گرفت. اگرچه مبنای این پژوهش، تأکید بر نظریات فوکویاما و هانتینگتون میباشد، اما از نظریات دیگر اندیشمندان غربی نیز در راستای دستیابی به پاسخ سئوال این مقاله استفاده شده است.

چکیده [English]
The decline in the United States began when the United States sought to secure US national interests in a unipolar system and to eliminate the bipolar system by upsetting the balance of power in the world. This study seeks to answer this question if there has been a decline in American hegemony and what are the characteristics of this decline?
Using descriptive-analytical method, this study seeks to answer these questions: first, what is the exact meaning and nature of the decline of American hegemony and why and how did this decline occur? Secondly, how would it be be the situation of the world system during the decline of American hegemony?
The main hypothesis of this study is that the decline of United States began after the collapse of the Soviet Union and the world system quickly descended from a unipolar to a multipolar world. Although this research is based on the theories of Fukuyama and Huntington, but the theories of other Western thinkers have also been used to answer the questions of this article.
